UK Youth Adventures Away from Home: funding for outdoor learning experiences for underrepresented young people (application deadline: Monday 11th December 2023)

UK Youth have been selected as the delivery partner for the second phase of the Adventures Away from Home Fund (AAfH).

In partnership with Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the new £1.5m fund aims to provide 8,500 young people, aged 11-18, or up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with bursaries to take part in outdoor learning. The programme will enable underrepresented young people to take part in outdoor learning experiences that support their personal development through connections with others and nature.

The Adventures Away from Home Fund will support charity and bot-for-profit profit outdoor learning providers in England to deliver outdoor learning experiences as full day sessions and 2-night residential stays.

Applications are welcomed from charity or not for profit established outdoor centres, city farms and arts or environmental based organisations whose primary purpose is the delivery of outdoor learning or learning outdoors using the natural environment.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon (midday) on Monday 11th December 2023. Successful applicants will receive confirmation of their funding grant by 5pm 18th December 2023.

All delivery must be complete by Sunday 31st March 2024. 50% of the grant payment will be made in advance and 50% will be paid on completion of delivery.

An online webinar is scheduled for Wednesday 6th December 2023 for agencies that would like to find more out about the programme.
