UK Government announces successful bids to Round 2 of the Changing Places Toilets programme

Over a 250,000 people in the UK need Changing Places Toilets to enable them to get out and about and enjoy the day-to-day activities which many more able bodied people may take for granted.

Changing Places are toilet facilities for children, young people and adults with profound or multiple disabilities, which are fitted with specialist equipment including a hoist and changing bench. They provide enough space for up to two carers to support the person with a disability to use the Changing Place.

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities have just published details of a further 64 local authorities that will receive around £7 million funding from the Round 2 allocation as part of the £30.5 million 3-year programme of funding, running up to 2023/24.
