Urology is a surgical medical speciality focused on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the urinary tract in both men and women and the male reproductive system.
The Urology Foundation has a Small Projects Fund to support projects in the UK and/or Ireland that are focused on improving the quality of clinical services and patient treatments within urology.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 30th September 2026.
The Urology Foundation champions advancements in urological care by supporting critical research and training initiatives. Through its Small Projects Fund, the Foundation provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals to undertake focused projects designed to directly enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes in urology.
The Small Projects Fund is dedicated to supporting projects that specifically aim to improve the quality of clinical services, patient treatments, and overall care within the field of urology. The fund also considers pilot projects or those designed for testing data, which could potentially pave the way for larger research initiatives.
The primary objectives of this fund are to support projects that can be completed within a two-year timeframe, focusing on tangible improvements in clinical services and patient care. Applicants are expected to demonstrate the clear benefits of their project to patient care and explain how it could positively impact clinical practice. Projects should seek to enhance services, treatments, and communications with patients and carers, while also measuring and evaluating outcomes to show improved well-being.
The maximum grant award available from this funding stream is £10,000. Projects supported by this fund are expected to be delivered within a 2-year period.
This fund is open to applications from nurses, clinicians, and allied health professionals (AHPs) actively working in urology within the United Kingdom or Ireland. All projects must be undertaken in the UK or Ireland and be led by a nurse, clinician, or allied health professional. For AHP-led projects, it is a requirement that a urology nurse, urology trainee, or consultant is part of the project team.
