Land managers and farmers can apply to get money for projects that support net zero, protected sites and habitat creation through 2023’s Landscape Recovery Scheme.

The Landscape Recovery Scheme provides funding for long-term and large-scale projects in England.

Applications are invited from land managers and farmers that are planning a project to:

o Create, improve or sustainably manage woodland.
o Restore and maintain peatland, and/or
o Improve the conditions of protected sites and link them so they’re better connected.

The following information is available on the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) website:

o Applicant guidance to find out if you’re eligible, what you need to include in your application, how to apply, and how the scheme will work.

o Criteria and scoring guidance to find out how we’ll assess your application – you should use this guidance to help you complete the project proposal form, and

o Feedback on the previous application round in 2022, which might help with ideas for your application.

Further information about Landscape Recovery funding is available on the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) website.

The deadline for applications is midday (12 noon) on Thursday 21st September 2023.
