The International Compost Awareness Week Poster and Bookmark Contest 2027 invites artists aged 14 and above worldwide to submit original poster designs focused on compost and sustainable development.

The International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) Poster and Bookmark Contest is organised by the Compost Research & Education Foundation to promote the importance of composting and its role in sustainable development.
The 2027 contest theme is “All Paths Lead to Compost,” inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, & Infrastructure, and encourages creative interpretations that highlight compost’s impact on the environment and innovation.
Artists are invited to submit original, non-AI-generated artwork that visually communicates the annual theme and the significance of composting. The winning poster will be reproduced and distributed nationally, helping to raise awareness about composting practices and their contribution to sustainability.
The winner will receive a $500 (£366) prize.
Eligible applicants must be at least 14 years old and may submit only one entry each.
The contest is open to participants worldwide. Entries must be submitted electronically in jpg format, 12” x 18” vertical orientation, with a resolution of 300 dpi. The poster must include the phrases “International Compost Awareness Week,” “May 2–8, 2027,” and “All Paths Lead to Compost!” as specified in the guidelines.
Only original artwork will be accepted and entries using copyrighted material, AI, or logos will be disqualified.
