Sign up for Exeter Connect’s free workshops on ‘Diversifying your Board’ and ‘An Introduction to Legal Structures’

Exeter Connect, a voluntary and community sector service funded by Exeter City Council, providing support and advice to help community groups in Exeter, is running a couple of online workshops in early December.

The workshops are both FREE and predominately open to community groups and organisations operating in Exeter. Other groups across Devon can express interest by contacting info@exeterconnect.org.uk, and will be able to join if there are still spaces available.

Many thanks to Hannah Potter, Lead Administrator at Exeter Connect for sending in details.

The free workshops are:

1. Recruiting to and diversifying your board (discussion forum) – Wednesday 1 December 2021 from 3.30-5pm

Join our online discussion forum to share top tips and good practice. We will be focusing on the all-important issue of growing, sustaining and diversifying your board, to ensure that it better reflects the community you serve and meets the challenges of the Equality Act.

Book via this link to Eventbrite.

2. Introduction to Legal Structures – Wednesday 8 December 2021, 1.30-4pm.

A free interactive workshop for Exeter’s community groups exploring the range of legal forms available to the VCSE sector.

o In a dilemma about how to formally set up your new project?

o What are the pros and cons of charity status?

o CIC, CIO, CBS…finding it a bit confusing?

o Want to understand better the legal structure of your community organisation and your options moving forward?

You can book your place on this workshop on Eventbrite.
