Round 3 of the UK Seafood Fund Infrastructure Scheme, offering grants to improve the UK’s seafood sector, now open to applications (application deadline: 29 November 2024).

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is currently inviting applications to Round 3 of the UK Seafood Fund: Infrastructure Scheme.

Around £65 million in grant funding is available through the Infrastructure Scheme. The scheme will fund projects that improve the UK seafood sector supply chain through investment in:

o Improved capability at ports, harbours, processing, and aquaculture facilities.
o The social and economic welfare of coastal communities.
o Fleet modernisation, and
o Recreational sea fishing.

This is a competitive schemes. Eligible applicants are invited to bid for a grant for:

1. The replacement or modification of engines for commercial fishing vessels. Further information and guidance is available at this LINK.

3. Port infrastructure improvements for the commercial catching sector. Further information and guidance is available at this LINK, and

Applications may be made up to Friday 29th November 2024 (or until all funds for the trial are allocated).
