Devon-based company, the Marsha Miles Consultancy (MMC), whose mission is to empower and nurture charities and social enterprises to grow and thrive, through the delivery of professional, high quality consultancy services and products, has recently launched a new corporate social responsibility programme called “Charity of the Season“.
Since 2014, Marsha and her team have been working with over 100 charities, social enterprises and small social businesses across the South West and UK.
Marsha says “we are so lucky to work with charities that are all working hard to make the world a better place. We are a socially responsible business that wants to lead by example and over the last 8 years we have informally provided free support to our community in the form of training, donations and free consultancy. We want to put this on a more formal footing, and we are excited to launch our Charity of the Season”.
Each MMC team member will have a choice of a local cause they want to nominate for 3 months of consultancy mentoring and support. This enables Marsha and her team to meet one of their core values, of Being Socially Responsible. Marsha: “we want our business to be an important force for good and we recognise our social and environmental responsibility, as well as our corporate social responsibility, giving freely of our time and resources where we are able“.
The first charity, Park Life Heavitree in Exeter, was chosen by Roger Cox, MMC Business Development Manager. Roger grew up playing in the park in Exeter with his 3 siblings and friends. On a recent visit with his own daughters, Roger decided that Park Life would be a great first recipient of MMC’s Charity of the Season programme.
Kate Holmes, Park Life Trustee shared: “Following the successful completion of our £900k+ build project in Autumn 2021, and after 10 years in the planning, Park Life are proud to be operating our Cafe and Community Hub in the park. This is a pivotal time in the development of our small charity, and we are so excited to have the support of Marsha Miles Consultancy to help us to grow as an organisation and find new ways to make the most of our new building, reach out further into the community and help Park Life with its core aims of reducing social isolation, giving people the opportunities to get involved and volunteer, and to help improve physical and mental health and wellbeing”.
