Torbay Community Development Trust‘s excellent Funding Advisor, Robin Causley, who has been a mainstay of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors in Torbay for many years, will be retiring shortly.
The Community Development Trust is currently seeking to recruit a replacement for Robin and has just released the following job advertisement. Exciting opportunity for a charity sector Community Funding Advisor in Torbay
“The Torbay Community Development Trust (TCDT) is recruiting a full-time Community Funding Advisor to support organisations in Torbay to raise funds, locate suitable grant funders and make funding bids. The role also includes managing the selection and distribution of local community grant funds.
“The role requires someone who is an experienced fundraiser in the Volunteer Charity and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sectors and has a proven track record in building relationships and supporting community groups, charities and social enterprises. We looking for someone who has a good working knowledge of the charity sector, approaches to raising funds for community groups, grant funder requirements, constitutional procedures of charities, with strong communication and networking skills.
“The role includes running a regular community forum, circulation of a newsletter and funding advice, meeting individuals and groups to assess needs, locating suitable funding sources and then supporting groups in their applications. It also includes coordination of an assessment panel, managing grant applications, and distribution of funds to groups and individual in Torbay. The role is based on home working during the working week with some access to hot desking. Some flexibility is required to attend evening and weekend meetings. The role also has a support role within CDT researching appropriate grant providers.
“As an employee of CDT it would be useful, although not essential, if you had a good understanding of collaborative partnership working, commissioning and alliances, as well as the principles of asset-based community development. We would be open to discussions about this role as a 4 day working week. Salary £28,000 per annum at 37.5 hrs per week.
