The Ellacombe Community Partnership is launching a new Community Youth Project for Torquay. We are seeking two part-time Youth Workers with experience of running group youth sessions and activities.

The project will consist of a Youth Café, games and sporting activities but also aims to integrate young people in local community projects such as beach clean-ups and planting schemes. We believe that young people have a vital role to play in the future development of Torbay and we aim to empower them with new skills, provide opportunity for healthy activities, whilst helping to build their confidence and self-belief.

Young people aged 5 to 18 will be encouraged to take active roles in the future organisation and development of the project so that it evolves into a project run by, and for, young people. It is therefore essential that learning and development play a large part in the activities which we organise.

If you are interested in taking a leading role in this exciting new project we would like to hear from you. Applicants must have previous youth work experience and be able to create and manage imaginative community activities that will engage young people in a positive way.

Please send a covering letter and CV to or ‘phone 07720 094697 for an informal chat about the roles, before applying.

The Ellacombe Community Partnership is an equal opportunities employer and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.”
