“Steamship Freshspring (“SS Freshspring”) is a historic steamship, recognised by National Historic Ships, and the only survivor in her class! She is currently berthed as a static vessel in Bideford, North Devon.
“The ship’s restoration led to the formation of the Trust, but the primary reason for her rescue was to create a resource to inspire and engage young people, encourage their interest in STEM subjects and provide a pathway into a variety of careers.
“As the Audience Development Manager, you will continue the excellent work of the Trust to thrill and inspire their audiences with the real and virtual ship. Your primary goal will be to connect with new audiences and increase the numbers of visitors, event participants and the membership for the Trust, raising its profile locally and within the tourism industry.
“This is a brand new role within the Trust’s development programme, which is part of an 18-month Heritage Lottery-funded project.
“You will have excellent interpersonal skills, innovation and creativity and a can-do attitude. A background within the heritage or museum industries would be advantageous but is not essential, as is marketing experience.
“This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a small but ambitious charity with innovative ideas and big plans! Click [here] to download our Recruitment Pack and apply today! We look forward to receiving your application.
“Closing date: Friday 28th April. Please note we may bring this date forward should we receive sufficient interest in the post.”
