Job Opportunity: Arts for Health charity Magic Carpet is currently seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer (application deadline : midday on Friday 23rd April 2021)

Magic Carpet is an Exeter-based arts organisation which works in Exeter and its surrounding towns. The charity offers a range of creative arts activities to those people who don’t usually access the arts because of difficulties with health, disability or their social circumstances.

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

o Salary: Equivalent to NJC scale 32, £35745 f.t.e )pro rata £28,596 + 3% pension).
o Hours of work: 30 hours over 4 days
o Contract: Permanent
o Location: Exeter

o Closing date: 12pm, Friday 23rd April 2021

o Workplace: Part office, part remote and some travelling within Devon

“Magic Carpet is a long established arts for health charity working in Exeter and the surrounding area. Over the last 40 years we have worked extensively in the community inspiring growth, well-being and compassion, through the power of creativity for people challenged by health or social circumstances.

“Magic Carpet is looking for an experienced proactive professional as its new CEO to help us both consolidate and build upon our current provision. Due to the retirement of the current CEO we are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable person to lead the charity in the next stage of its development and rebuild our services in the post COVID world, including online. Proven ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, to attract funds, new clients, and generate income through fundraising is key. 2021/2 provides a unique and exciting opportunity for a new CEO to join Magic Carpet and work with a dedicated team of Trustees, small staff team and great creative session leaders to deliver on our 3-year Business Plan.

The CEO will also work with Get Changed Theatre Company (based in Okehampton) with their board of Trustees, providing strategic direction and funding support, equivalent of one day a week.
