GRIN SW LLP has been running now for nearly 10 years. In that time, we often receive phone calls from people asking “Is that Grin?”, “Is Mr. Grin there?”, “Are you grim?” and even, on one occasion, “Is this the number for gin?”.
As part of a rebranding exercise, and following our participation in a number of laughter workshops via Zoom earlier this year, we’ve decided to formally change our surnames by deed poll.
We’re delighted to announce that, from 1 April 2021, Paul (formerly Tucker) has become Paul Grin, while Dominie (previously Dunbrook) is now Dominie Grin, having resisted the urge not to include the letter “r”. Our updated biogs are available on the GRIN website.
To coincide with this major rebranding, the GRIN office is also being redecorated with GRIN emoji wallpaper and flooring, while a GRIN playlist, including Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”, Roberta Flack’s “When You Smile” and Barry Manilow’s “Can’t Smile Without You” will be played in rotation in the GRIN office (we’re open to other grin or smile related songs to add to our limited track list – please email any suggestions to info@grin.coop). We’ve invited Nils Lofgren, probably best know for his association with Bruce Springsteen, but formerly of the early 1970s band Grin, to open the refurbished office but so far we haven’t heard back.
The final element of our dynamic rebranding process is a commitment by Paul and Dominie to continually grin when responding to phone calls or participating in Zoom or Microsoft Team meetings, even though this may appear inappropriate in some circumstances (for example “the grant application was unsuccessful” or “I’m sorry, that funding programme closed five minutes ago”).
The GRIN shop, featuring t-shirts with our logo and mission statement “Let grin put a smile on your face”, GRIN mugs and cassette tapes with the 3 track GRIN playlist, will be available shortly.
Happy Easter everyone!
Paul and Dominie Grin
