Grant programmes with application deadlines between Monday 18th December 2023 and Sunday 14th January 2024

We’ll be closing the GRIN office for our annual Festive and new Year break from today, Friday 15th December. The office will reopen on Tuesday 9th January 2024.

To help not-for-profits navigate the tricky end of year period, when traditionally there are lots of grant programmes with application deadlines, we’ve listed all national and South West England grant programmes with application deadline between Monday 18th December 2023 and Sunday 14th January 2024.

1. Grant programmes with application deadlines between Monday 18th December and Sunday 24th December 2023.

MUSIC FOR ALL COMMUNITY PROJECT GRANTS
Grants and awards, usually equivalent to £1,500, are available to not-for-profit organisations, including schools, for projects that bring music into communities across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Tuesday 19 December 2023 at 12 noon. (This is the deadline for full applications. However, applicants must initially complete an Eligibility Quiz/Checklist by Thursday 14th December 2023 in order to be invited to submit a full application.)
THE CO-OP FOUNDATION YOUNG GAMECHANGERS FUND
Grants of up to £20,000 are available to UK groups or organisations with an annual income of less than £250,000 that can deliver youth-led projects and activities with and for young people aged 10-25. Partnership bids are welcomed. Individuals may also apply.

FRANK PARKINSON AGRICULTURAL TRUST          
A small number of grants are available to registered charities, individuals and educational institutions in England, Scotland and Wales for projects that enhance the productivity of British Agriculture in order to meet the challenges of a growing world population and increased competition for resources.

THE ASHLEY FAMILY FOUNDATION          
Revenue grants, generally for under £10,000 and in some instances for up to 3 years, are available to registered charities in England and Wales for small scale arts and community projects, particularly in rural areas.

SEA-CHANGERS MARINE CONSERVATION SOCIALFUND 2023/24

A limited number of small grants of between £3,000 and £5,000 are available to UK charitable organisations, including registered charities and community groups, for projects that support or enhance participants’ health and well-being and/or deliver benefits for disadvantaged communities through marine conservation activity. Partnership proposals are welcomed.

THE PETS AT HOME FOUNDATION: RESCUE CENTRE GRANTS AND HELPING PEOPLE THROUGH PETS GRANTS
Grants from £250 with no upper limit are available to UK registered charities and not-for-profit organisations to support pet rescue centres and to rehome pets.

ROYAL NAVY BENEVOLENT TRUST
Supports voluntary and charitable organisations working to support ex-Royal Navy personnel and their families across the UK. The Trust prioritises smaller organisations that are helping a significant number of members of the Royal Navy Benevolent Fund family.

ADAMSON TRUST (THE CHILDREN’S CHARITY)  
Small grants, generally for £1,000 or less, are available for individuals, registered charities, charitable organisations and schools across the UK to assist with the costs of respite breaks or holidays for children aged over 2 and under 18 who are living with emotional, mental or physical challenges.

BARCLAYS COMMUNITY FOOTBALL FUND           
Grants of up to £500 are available to UK not-for-profit organisations, including community groups, youth groups and traditional football clubs, to make football more inclusive and accessible within communities.

THE BIG BIKE REVIVAL GRANTS PROGRAMME (CYCLING UK) AUTUMN 2023 ROUND    
Grants of up to £2,500 are available to a range of not-for-profit and charitably inclined organisations in England for projects that support people returning to cycling, starting as complete beginners, and people who do not cycle regularly.

BRITFORD BRIDGE TRUST           
Grants, generally for between £10,000 and £50,000, are available to UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas to prevent poverty, advance education, health and the arts, culture, heritage and science. UK charities working in the fields of community development, citizenship, amateur sports, the environment and supporting people in need will also be considered.

THE EDITH MAUD ELLIS 1985 CHARITABLE TRUST             
Seed funding grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available to UK registered charities, social enterprises and public bodies for innovative ideas in the UK or overseas that offer the potential to bring about a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.

Revenue grants of variable sizes are available to registered charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations working in the UK and/or overseas in the areas of the arts, education, medical research and social welfare.

GREENE KING “PROUD TO PITCH IN” GRANTS     
Grants of up to £4,000 are available for grassroots community organisations, including sports clubs and social enterprises across the UK to deliver sports activities within communities in which participating Greene King sites are located.

HINRICHSEN FOUNDATION         
One-off grants, generally of between £250 and £1,500, are available to UK registered charities, not-for-profit organisations and individuals to assist the public performance of contemporary music and independent musicological research.

THE OCADO FOUNDATION FOR GOOD    
Grants of up to £1,000 are available to a wide range of not-for-profit organisations, including local authorities, across the UK to support skills development and/or sustainability projects that benefit local communities.

PLACES OF WORSHIP PROTECTIVE SECURITY FUNDING
Capital grants are available to provide protective security measures for places of worship in England and Wales that have been subject to, or are vulnerable to, hate crimes that target people because of their religion. The programme will remain open for applications from Mosques until Sunday 31st December 2023.

ROBERT CLUTTERBUCK CHARITABLE FOUNDATION             
Grants of up to £3,000 are available to registered charities in England and Wales that are supporting Armed Forces and ex-service personnel, as well as natural history and wildlife projects. Projects in Cheshire and Hertfordshire tend to be favoured, but not exclusively.

Awards of up to £15,000 are available to help social entrepreneurs across the UK aged 16 and over to start up or grow their idea for a social venture and develop their potential as social leaders.

YORKSHIRE BUILDING SOCIETY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION   
Project and equipment grants of between £250 and £2,000 are available to UK registered charities working to help relieve poverty, improve health and save lives.

THE PETER HARRISON FOUNDATION OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PROGRAMME
Small Grants of up to £5,000 and Major Grants of between £5,001 and £30,000 are available to UK registered charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) for sports-based projects providing sport and physical activity opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people and/or people with a disability.

Grants of up to £500 are available to young people or teams of young people aged 30 and under in the UK who want to use volunteering or community service to improve their community.

Grants averaging £15,000 are available to support the core costs of running Ofcom-licensed community radio stations and Community Digital Sound Programmes in the UK.

THE JOHN ELLERMAN FOUNDATION MUSEUMS AND GALLERIES FUND
Grants averaging £90,000 are available to UK regional museums and galleries, including those managed by local authorities, to enhance and sustain curatorial development which will attract a broader public.

THE THOMAS WALL TRUST GRANTS FOR REGISTERED CHARITIES
Revenue grants of up to £5,000 are available to UK registered charities that are developing communication skills for disadvantaged adults aged 18 and over so that they can improve their employment prospects, self-confidence, resilience and life-chances.

THE WINGATE FOUNDATION (also known as THE HAROLD HYAM WINGATE FOUNDATION)
Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 (average: £4,868 in 2021) for smaller UK registered charities working in the areas of education, Jewish life, medical research, music, the performing arts, social exclusion and developing countries. The majority of grants are made for music, performing arts and Jewish life.

THE JEAN SAINSBURY ANIMAL WELFARE TRUST
Grants, usually for between £2,000 and £10,000, are available for UK animal welfare charities for projects or activities in the UK and overseas that benefit and protect animals, relieve the suffering of animals, address the conservation of wildlife and/or encourage a greater understanding of animals.

THE HUBBUB FOUNDATION UK: NATURE HUBS FUND
Grants of between £3,000 and £6,000 are available for a wide range of organisations in England, Scotland and Wales, including Community Interest Companies, for projects within a 3-mile radius of a Starbucks retail outlet to create new or enhance existing green spaces that will increase access to nature.

THE STEEL CHARITABLE TRUST
Grants between £2,500 and £25,000 for UK registered charities, Community Interest Companies and Charitable Incorporated Organisations working in the areas of the arts and heritage, economic and/or social disadvantage, education, health and the environment.

THE THEATRES TRUST SMALL GRANTS FUND
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to theatres across the UK operated by registered charities and not-for-profit groups for essential capital works that will enable them to be more accessible. viable and to thrive.

THE THREE GUINEAS TRUST: ACCESS TO LEGAL ADVICE FOR DISABLED PEOPLE (ROUND 1)
Grants of up to £50,000 per year for 1, 2 or 3 years are available to UK not-for-profit organisations for projects providing better access to free legal advice and representation for disabled people in the UK. Applying organisations must meet the quality standards listed below.

Grants of between £2,000 and £30,000 are available over 2 years for constituted UK organisations for projects that encourage children and young people aged under 25 to make, learn and earn in music.

One-off grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available to UK charitable organisations with an annual income of under £250,000 for innovative, hard-to-fund work in the area of social reform.
