“GETTING ON BOARD”

This is a FREE practical workshop for Exeter’s community groups and organisations on how charities can recruit to & diversify their trustee boards.

About this event

Exeter Connect are delighted to host national trustee recruitment and diversity charity, Getting on Board, for a practical workshop about how charities can diversify their trustee boards.

  • Only one third of trustees are women.
  • 8% are people of colour.
  • Only one third are under 50.
  • 59% of charities report that their board does not reflect the communities they serve.
  • 74% of charities struggle to find the trustees they need.

Why is this? What could improved board diversity do for charities? What are the tried and tested practical actions you can take to recruit and retain diverse trustees?

Join Exeter Connect for this free online workshop. The session is particularly aimed at trustees, staff or volunteers of small to medium sized charities in Exeter.

The workshop will take place this Wednesday, 20 October 2021, between 6pm and 7.45pm.
