The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities produced a list of successful and unsuccessful bids to the Future High Streets Fund earlier this week.
The Future High Streets Fund aims to renew and reshape town centres and high streets in a way that drives growth, improves experience and ensures future sustainability.
In total, 72 places will share over £830 million from the Future High Streets Fund, which will support their towns and high streets to reopen and recover from the effects of the pandemic.
Successful applicants in the South West region included:
o Barnstaple, North Devon.
o Kingswood, South Gloucestershire.
o Penzance, Cornwall, and
o Taunton, Somerset.
While unsuccessful bids included:
o Bideford, Torridge.
o Cinderford, Gloucestershire, and
o Poole, Dorset.
