Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport releases details of 2,272 organisations in England supported through the Culture Recovery Fund Grant Programme

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has released details of more than 2,700 organisations being offered nearly £400 million in grants and loans to help the culture and heritage sector reopen following COVID-19, with more than 70% of funding allocated outside of London.

The Culture Recovery Fund Grants Programme offered financial support for cultural organisations that were financially stable before Covid-19, but were at imminent risk of failure.

Awards to South West cultural organisations include:

o Activate Performing Arts Limited in West Dorset.
o Golden Tree Productions in Camborne and Redruth, Cornwall.
o Jazz Hands CIC in Torbay, Devon.
o Knowle West Media Centre in Knowle, Bristol.
o Living Spit Theatre in North Somerset.
o North Devon Council Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon.
o Strike A Light Combined Arts in Gloucester.
o The Plough Arts Centre in Great Torrington, Devon, and
o Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life, Devon.
