Are you an arts organisation, library or museum in England? As a National Portfolio Organisation, you could receive regular investment to help deliver Arts Council England’s strategy, “Let’s Create“.
The Arts Council England (ACE) is the national development agency for creativity and culture in England. It invests public money in people and organisations across the country, and one of the biggest investments it makes is through its National Portfolio.
The National Portfolio is a group of organisations that gets regular funding from the Arts Council England, and in return provides a backbone of creative and cultural provision across the country, playing plays a major role in helping the Arts Council realise its new strategy, “Let’s Create”. At the moment, over 800 organisations across the country make up the National Portfolio, receiving committed funding from the Arts Councilfrom 2018 to 2022.
The next National Portfolio will play a crucial role in helping realise the vision of Let’s Create:
“By 2030, we want England to be a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued and given the chance to flourish, and where every one of us has access to remarkable range of high-quality cultural experiences.”
Through the portfolio the Council England invest in arts organisations, libraries and museums who are excellent at what they do: engaging communities, collaborating with others, and producing high quality work that engages and moves us. Making sure that access to this work is available to people the length and breadth of the country, regardless of who they are, or where they live, will be vital to the success of this portfolio.
ACE’s intention is that its new national portfolio will be its most representative yet in terms of its location and the communities it serves.
Arts Council England will be publishing full guidance for applicants in January 2022, before applications open 12pm (midday) on Monday 14 February 2022 until 12pm (midday) on Tuesday 26 April 2022.
