The Emile Bruneau Empathy Fund aims to support grassroots empathy projects around the world.
Empathy is an invaluable natural resource for conflict transformation. With empathy, they can build a better society because it enables human beings to appreciate other people’s perspective and respond to other people’s thoughts and feelings with an appropriate emotion. Empathy serves as an inhibitor of aggression and conflict, a catalyst of prosocial behaviour, and helps them make better choices that promote a sustainable peace.
Empathy for Peace anticipates being able to fund 2-3 projects for a maximum of $2,000 CAD per project.
o Submissions must be from a registered not-for-profit organisation, or be sponsored by a registered not-for-profit organisation.
o Submissions must be for projects that aim to primarily support children and youth.
o Submissions must be for projects with a goal or a main component that aims to foster empathy.
o Submissions can be for new or existing projects and funding can be used to cover the full or partial costs of the project
