The Maypole Fund, established in 1986 by women involved in the peace movement, especially with Greenham Common, is currently seeking applications from women only with an aim to resource imaginative, non-violent activities by feminist anti-militarist women whether individual women or women only groups to proactively challenge patriarchy (i.e. systems of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it).
The Maypole Fund is seeking applications from women only for projects and activities from any part of the world for any of the following:
o Action against the arms trade.
o Action against nuclear weapons and weapons systems.
o Creating a culture of peace and nonviolence and the prevention of conflict and war, and/or
o Action to support disarmament policies, processes and related initiatives
Grants of up to £750 are available with no matched funding requirement for individual women or women only organisations that meet the following eligibility criteria:
o Young women’s groups/individuals and lesbian groups/individuals.
o Activities or projects not yet started.
o Women who do not have access to other sources of funding or whose projects find it difficult to attract funding from elsewhere.
o Imaginative/creative activities, and
o Individual and small women’s groups over larger established women’s groups.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 31 January 2021. The Fund expects to support around 12 projects each year over two funding rounds.
