JOB VACANCY: Fundraising & Marketing Officer – part-time 10-15 hours a week, flexible, home-based near Bath. One-year contract c.£12.50/hr (FTE £24,375)

PID UK (PID stands for primary immunodeficiency) is an operating division of the charity Genetic Disorders UK.

You’ll be working as part of a small team, remotely with regular telephone, video conferencing and occasional face to face communication with the director of PID UK and other members of the GDUK team.

This is a combined programme support and marketing/fundraising role, which will suit someone with an interest in health and patient support, who is organized, adaptable, literate and numerate. In return, you’ll enjoy a high degree of autonomy, the satisfaction of making a huge difference to people’s lives and the flexibility to work from home and to choose your hours to fit around any caring responsibilities you may have, with a reasonable salary and 12 days paid holidays (equivalent to 6 weeks per year pro rated)

Skills required

o Empathy with patients affected by primary immunodeficiency disorders, although in depth medical knowledge of the condition is not required.
o Ability to work largely unsupervised.
o Creative, skilled communicator with some digital marketing experience.
o Familiar with community and challenge fundraising events.
o Numerate and able to deal with the administration requirements of a small charity.
o IT skills – need to be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point.
o Confident telephone manner.
o Discreet and professional approach for dealing with patient groups and medical partners.
o Experience of working in a small charity would be a distinct advantage, regardless of sector, although a health charity would be ideal.
