1. ADVICE SESSION SUPERVISOR

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Generalist Advice Team as an Advice Session Supervisor in what is often a highly pressured environment. The role will require you to run the daily advice session and to supervise a team of volunteer advisers, check case records, mentor new volunteers and ensure service delivery and quality standards are maintained. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years generalist advice experience in a Citizens Advice or equivalent setting and will need to have good communication skills and a commitment to delivering a high quality service.

o Locations: Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Nailsea and Portishead
o 22.5 hours per week
o Initial fixed term 12 month contract
o Salary: £22,401 pro rata per annum

Citizens Advice North Somerset (CANS) is an established and well regarded local independent charity who provide free, impartial and confidential advice. We undertake research & campaign work to influence policy makers and to effect change. We work in partnership with the Local Authority, The Legal Aid Agency, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Money Advice Service, Wessex Water and many more local and national partners to deliver our advice services to over 7,000 clients living and working in North Somerset.

2. MONEY ADVICE SUPPORT ASSISTANT

We are looking to recruit a Money Advice Support Assistant to join our Money Advice Team. You will need to have good IT, numeracy and literacy skills and preferably experience of working in the not-for-profit advice sector.

o Location: Weston-super-Mare
o Hours: 30 hours per week
o Contract: Initial fixed term 12 month contract
o Salary: £17,681 pro rata per annum

You will be joining our team of 25 paid staff and over 80 volunteers. We are an established and well regarded local independent charity who provide free, impartial and confidential advice. We undertake research & campaign work to influence policy makers and to effect change. We work in partnership with the Local Authority, The Legal Aid Agency, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Money Advice Service, Wessex Water and many more local and national partners to deliver our advice services to over 7,000 clients living and working in North Somerset.

3. TRUSTEES & TREASURER REQUIRED

Citizens Advice North Somerset is seeking individuals to join its Board of Trustees.

Citizens Advice North Somerset is an established and well-regarded local independent charity that provides free, impartial and confidential advice on a range of issues for example benefits, debt, housing and consumer problems. It undertakes research and campaign work to influence policy makers and to effect change.

We have over 80 professionally trained and enthusiastic volunteers plus 25 paid staff who provide help, advice and information to the public on a wide range of subjects. www.nscab.org.uk

We would like to hear from people with a willingness to give a little of their time, experience and commitment and particularly anyone with up to date experience of Governance, Strategic Development, IT, Fundraising or Training. Additionally we are seeking a Treasurer to the Board with the relevant financial experience to oversee our finances.

As an organisation committed to equality and diversity, we particularly welcome applications from candidates from all sections of the community and those from disadvantaged groups to help steer the service forward.

Posts are unpaid but we offer the opportunity to work as part of a professional team to help meet the new challenges and opportunities that we face. There are a minimum of 10 meetings a year comprising of Board Meetings, Executive Meetings and Staff Meetings.
