o Post Title: Community Outreach Worker, Ellacombe Community Partnership, Torquay.
o Salary: £20,800 per annum/pro rata based on a 40 hour week.
o Hours: 15 hours per week, flexible.
o Place of Work: Torquay.
o Closing Date for Applications: 10am, Tuesday 6 April 2021.
“The Ellacombe Community Partnership supports and enables community projects in the ward of Ellacombe and it’s surrounding areas in Torquay. We work with all age groups across a diverse community with a special focus on deprivation, isolation and vulnerability. We are currently based at Temperance Street, Torquay where we run a Community café and activity centre and help support the Torbay Community Development Trust, offering a safe space for all members of the Torbay community to engage, and seek help and guidance on a range of issues which affect their lives.
“As we move out of the Lockdown period, we are seeking an experienced Care in the Community worker, to raise awareness of the Partnership and its activities and to help support the more vulnerable members of our community to re-engage and rebuild confidence, in a way that feels safe for them. If you are a creative and energetic individual who believes they can help shape the future of our community’s recovery and play a vital role in the development of community strategy, then we would like to hear from you.
“We envisage that work will include one to one support with clients, group activities or doorstep visits. This post-holder will play a key role in our small team and will be supported by a larger network of community organisations, with whom we partner. Because of the nature of our work, the successful applicant must have Adult Safeguarding training and will also be subject to a DBS check.
“Candidates must have a proven track record of working in a Community role and experience of asset-based community development would be beneficial, but we do not specify a skill set – we would rather you told us why you think you would be a perfect candidate for this role.
“Applicants should send a covering letter and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 07720 094697 for an informal chat about this post before applying.
“Please note – it is essential that candidates have a full driving licence and access to transport.
“The ECP is an equal opportunities employer, and would particularly welcome applications from candidates who are disabled or from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicity, who are currently under-represented in our organisation.“
As far as we can determine, Ellacombe Community Partnership doesn’t have a website. It does, however, have a fairly active Facebook page, which can be found at this LINK.
