Guild of Experienced Motorists (GEM) Road Safety Charity Grants now open to application (application deadline 31 January 2019)

GEM ROAD SAFETY CHARITY GRANTS – Grants for road safety projects which help to improve the safety of all road users throughout the UK through research, education, engineering or enforcement (application deadline 31 January 2019)

The aim of the GEM Road Safety Fund is to improve the safety of all road users throughout the country by making grants and providing financial assistance to support innovative road safety projects in the UK.

The Charity aims to support one or two projects annually with a total grant allocation in the region of £10,000.

Applications are accepted from:

o Community groups;
o Registered charities;
o Foundations;
o Professional bodies;
o Road safety organisations;
o Road safety partnerships; and
o Schools.

The charity will not award grants to projects that:

o Do not demonstrate a road safety benefit to the wider community;
o Are from a political party; and
o Are contrary to the relevant legislation regarding equal opportunities such as the Equality Act 2010.

Applications must be submitted online by Thursday 31 January 2019 with successful applicants expected to be notified in April 2019.
