The charity Community Matters provides help and support to not-for-profit organisations across the UK, specialising in funding and quality improvement.
Community Matters is currently offering the following online training opportunities, workshops and network meetings:
Community Matters has been negotiating for access to some computer based e-learning to support organisations as they return to work. This training should take 30 to 40 minutes to complete and is designed for staff and volunteers to do before the organisation re-opens.
The course covers:
o Risk assessment – hand-washing, surfaces, seating arrangements.
o Getting to work – travelling there and moving round the premises.
o Common areas.
o Working and meeting with customers, colleagues and visitors
o Cleaning – before, during and at the end of the working day.
o Face and body coverings.
o Accidents & incidents, and
o Raising concerns.
At the end of the e-learning participants will receives a certificate. The organisation can also receive a certificate to help give confidence to your users. The course will be regularly updated as guidance and legislation changes.
There is a charge of £5 per person for the e-learning.

2. Coffee Time Workshops
Unfortunately Community Matters has to make a charge for these, but it have capped the cost at the value of a large high street coffee (£3.50).
o 4th August 10am Quality Improvement – looking what is quality and the benefits of Quality Improvement – looking at how you show you are fit for purpose to funders and stakeholders. the session will also look at the preVISIBLE and Improving Quality Schemes.
The session will look at the latest information on the Government grant schemes and Furloughing, as well as other sources of grants and finance that have become available. There will also be an opportunity for people to network during the current situation.
