Clarity CIC to run free Zoom workshop for South West VCSE organisations on ‘How to Gather Data’ (date: Weds 15th July)

Inspiring Impact South West: How to Gather Data

Qualitative or Quantitative? / An introduction to methods – Wednesday 15 July 2020, 10am-11.15am.

This is the second session in a 3 part series of FREE online workshops about impact management for VCSE sector organisations from the South West of England.  Participants don’t need to have taken part in the first session to benefit from ‘How to Gather Data‘.

The series is being run by Inspiring Impact delivery partner Social Value UK (SVUK) in collaboration with its Inspiring Impact Regional Partner for the South West, Clarity CIC.

This session will focus on ‘How to gather data – Qualitative or Quantitative? / An introduction to methods‘.

The first session looked at the importance of making decisions from the data we are gathering. This session will look at how to gather our data.  Particularly in the current climate our activities, and our data gathering practices may have changed significantly, and so we may need to assess what data we are gathering and how we are getting this data. This session will be looking at:

o Expanding our ideas about what acceptable data sources are
o Whether this should be qualitative or quantitative (or both!)
o Engaging with our stakeholders in times of crisis / physical distance.
o Safe and ethical data management practice

The session will be 1 hour 15 mins long and involve group discussions, resource sharing and action planning.
