Cancer Research UK named as the best charity to work for

Cancer Research UK is Britain’s best charity employer, according to data analysis by the global job website Indeed.

The company analysed data from its site, which included 4,000 reviews of charity employers by staff and volunteers, to compile a list of the top 25 organisations to work for in the voluntary and public sectors.

Staff at Cancer Research UK (CRUK) praised the charity’s culture and its promotion of a healthy work-life balance,  Indeed said.

The top 10 employers on the list were all charities:

1 Cancer Research UK

Oxfam

National Citizen Service

British Heart Foundation

Sue Ryder

RSPCA

Salvation Army

Citizens Advice

Age UK

10 Barnardo’s

Bill Richards, the UK managing director at Indeed, said the results showed charities could be “fantastic places to work“.

He said: “It is striking that in the non-profit sector, just as in the commercial world, the employers that score highest with their staff are those who make their teams feel valued and offer a good work-life balance and a positive workplace culture.”
