The Dorset Community Action Funding Fair provides a great opportunity to develop your funding skills and knowledge through face to face discussions with funders, keynote speakers and hands on practical workshops.

Date: Thursday 7th November 2019 – 9.30am registration for 10.15am start to 4pm finish.
o Venue: CLaRC, Wimborne BH21 1EB.
o Booking: Booking is essential as numbers are limited.
o Cost: £35 per person for DCA members, £45 per person for non DCA members.

At this year’s event:

o Find out how the new Dorset Council aims to support voluntary and community organisations going forward.
o Find out about plans for a Dorset Community Lottery.
o Get updated on the Dorset Council Community Impact Fund, and
o Learn from Dorset Community Foundation about the due diligence checks that DCF (and many other funders) undertake on organisations applying for funding, before reading the actual application.

Low Carbon Dorset will explain what can be done to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs and Virgin Money’s Fraud Awareness workshop will share best practice in regards to what to look out for and stay as safe as possible not only online but through the post and telephone.

The National Lottery Community Fund – Reaching Communities Programme, will be doing an afternoon workshop.

You will also be able to talk to the Talbot Village Trust, Volunteer Centre Dorset, Ward Goodman, Wimborne and Ferndown Lions who continue to support this event.

New for this year, the Hendy Foundation, Hall and Woodhouse Community Chest and Quizalot and – back after a break – the Tesco Bags of Help Award, Bournemouth Airport Community Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

And of course, DCA Community advisors will be on hand to answer your questions about legal structures and good governance, developing evidence of need and consulting the community, finding funders and diversifying your income to improve sustainability.
